In September 2007 a group of twelve people, who had previously experienced Square Dancing, decided to get together to see if they could start a new group in Tamworth. A sound test dance was then held in October 2007 and a new Square Dance Club – Cloverleaf Dancers – was commenced in January 2008 during the Country Music Festival. Around 70 people turned up on that night and Brian Hotchkies and Tom Campanelli did the calling. With a good number of new dancers, the new club soon became established and a number of functions were held in the first couple of years to gain recognition. The club has had three callers in the eight years it has been operating, but since the end of 2014 have been dancing without a Club caller. Currently they are using recorded music and teaching DVD’s. They have also purchased their own sound equipment as well as a flat screen TV and DVD player for use in teaching. The club has not increased the admission price in 8 years and is in a strong financial position. New dancers and visiting dancers are always welcomed.

2018 Vale:  In February and March this year the Tamworth Cloverleaf Dancers were devastated by the sudden death of two of our lovely dancers.
Leiza Hofman lost her life in a tragic kayaking accident while Pam Green/Skinner was found dead on her beloved property. Both of these dancers will be greatly missed, not only by their club, but also by all our NNSWSDA dancers who had the pleasure of meeting and dancing with them. They will be sadly missed by us all. Please go to our "News Items" Section for their stories.
